Quilled Card for Engagement

Hi,

I made this card for my friend's engagement.Would love to share the details here :)

Firstly,I drew a heart shape in the center of the cardstock and cut it with a craft knife. This was very difficult for me as I am poor when it comes to cutting :P I had wasted two cardstocks and got it right in the third trial :) Then I used 3 mm red strips to create a lattice effect. It was little time consuming, but was super fun.First, I had planned to do it one way and it looked so plain,so made it like this.

This was the first time I made so many roses.I have half a dozen more for decorating the envelope too !!
I made the ring first in off-white color which showed little difference,so strictly stuck to the red strips to make it to the challenge!!

Quilled Heart Card

Hi,

This is a special one as this was my first attempt in straight line quilling.

I started by drawing the outline of the heart very lightly and roughly so that it is not visible at the end.(I also fixed a piece of rubber to a small pin and removed all traces of pencil in the end )And then I measured each n every strip starting from 7.8 cm in the center and gradually incrementing and decrementing according to the shape.Measuring each strip was a task especially when I cut it 1mm shorter  in a place :( so,I had to attach another strip of 1mm length.!!

I chose pink cardstock  for making the strips as I  wanted a subtle look.Making the strips to stand straight was a challenge and sometimes when I was trying to align a strip, the previous one got disturbed.I never knew I had this much of Patience !!!

This piece took me about 4.5 hours flat to complete.I didn't want any sentiment to be in the front as I felt the heart itself will convey all it had to say !!!!!! Wanted to make it look as clean and simple possible.

I was so satisfied  with this one and I had been literally staring at it after completing it.I am in so love with this. But,Pics were taken at night,so not that great :(

And when hubby returned from office at 10pm (that too on weekend!) he was super happy when I gifted him and kept the card close to his heart and gave a pose which  I managed to take a quick pic in my mobile :)
The effort behind was worth it certainly!!

I hope to try much more similar to this as I feel this would help me in getting steady hands :P

Quilled Card

Hi,

So,I am posting this on a weekend when hubby decides to go to office due to some urgent work  :( I was doing a quilled earring and when I came across this challenge , I left the earring as such and decided to make a quilled card !!

I used DI ( Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean ) for the background and used flowers made by combing technique.Wanted to have a classy look and then added pearls to the centre of the flowers using glue gun.

I made sure that the entire card is quilled,so even the sentiment is Quilled letters :)

Some more Pics..

I have one flower left for the envelope also.!!

Quilled Ganesha

Hi,

I wanted to gift something to a lovely family who were my husband's client in office. They had been so nice to us and as they were shifting to Dubai,I thought a quilled ganesha layout would be perfect gift. But,I had lost my quilling tool while we shifted to a new house :P So,there was a delay to get my goods shipped from India. And,the family has left now before I completed this :(

Anyways,Would love to share this here. Will be framing and then gifting it soon :P

Size : A4

I had crimped every strips used in the project using crimping tool before pasting on the sheet.Used DI in Mustard seed and Peacock Feathers for the Background.
